This is a picture of most of my freshmen class -- 1969-70. The last few nights, I have been on FaceBook on a newly created page (Thanks, Tina) called MSJ Girls. In a matter of 2 weeks, we have 117 members! People are coming out of the woodwork - -it's so cool! Memories and names are flying around like crazy. "Has anybody heard of......." "Where is.........?" "When was the last time you talked to........"
Suddenly everybody is digging into their memory banks and wondering about friends and classmates they haven't thought about in years. Everybody is dusting off memories and tripping down memory lane. It's rather amazing what can be remembered by a group of people -- stuff one person alone can't recall.
Last night Rose Turnquist ('73) started a post with "who remembers JUG" -- ! 90 comments later........we are laughing our heads off -- laughing til we cried.
Seems some Mount girls were real felons -- running with dishwater!!!!!
Tonight, the post "who remembers Mount Buns" -- and 86 comments later, we are nodding off and saying good night to each other.
People are throwing in the words of songs ("run, run, run, I think I hear a nun...!")
Seems there were lots of people sneaking smoking.......
The Dungeon, the duck, the stoop, the Madonna Room........
Names of faculty.....
There's so much to talk about!
Shared laughter, shared memories -- over a range of many years. It's a deep and almost magical bond that we share that I have not seen any place else in my life since my days at the Mount. It is incredibly unique and unbelievably special. How did we get to be so lucky?
